[Debian + Ubuntu] There is a link to GetDeb to install you have to download the package and then
> sudo dpkg -i package.deb

To compile under Fedora 9, I had to first do
> sudo yum install dvdauthor qt.i386 qt-devel.i386 qt3-designer.i386 qt3.i386 qt3-devel.i386 mplayer xine-lib* mjpegtools.i386 mjpegtoos-devel.i386

To compile under Kubuntu 8.04 I installed
> sudo apt-get install ffmpeg libavcodec-dev libavutil-dev libbz2-dev qt3-dev-tools libqt4-dev qt3-apps-dev libqt3-headers qt3-designer mplayer libbz2 g++ cvs bzip2
